Seattle based singer Lomon and his space based ballads really shine a star like-light within the music industry.

Lomon initially didn’t consider himself as a singer, but had been playing about with a piano from the age of 2 – “We would go and see my grandparent’s house every Friday when I was younger, and they had a piano and my parents decided by age 6 I should actually get some lessons, which I’m grateful for cause it sparked my love of music”.

Lomon’s newest single, ‘Little Visitors’ truly does revolve around the mystery and majesty of space; Lomon claims his love of not only The Beatles, but Science Fiction writers such as Isaac Asimov and Ted Chiang as he admires their ability to transport you into an alien world, Lomon wants to be able to replicate this with his music.

As well as The Beatles, Lomon states that if he could show his work to people he admires, he would also choose Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, but for Lomon, he doesn’t fully know who he’d pick, simply due to a large number of great influences. To Lomon, the ability to put his work out there for anyone to see is as good as his idols seeing it, believing that despite not everything being for everyone if he can connect with people, no matter the size of the group, the acceptance there is enough.

Lomon does state that his favourite album is Abbey Road, by The Beatles, with its medley style being so majestic, but he did state that Dark Side Of The Moon (Pink Floyd) was a close second. Away from the more mainstream, Lomon likes the band Pond, who are closely linked to another of his favourite bands, Tame Impala, also the New Zealand outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra (which is decisively one of the coolest band names of all time), and he praised ‘A Fable’ by Tigran Hamasyan, calling them insanely talented.

Lomon’s career is very new, but Lomon said that he’d been playing music for a long time and that releasing his music into the world was the first milestone for him, he does say however that there was a lot of learning involved, and that if he only reaches a small audience, to him its still a really big deal.
